BofA spent $4.1 billion in 2010 toward its five-year commitment to increase spending on small, medium-sized and diverse businesses. Mark Halperin tells Andrea Mitchell Tues. Romney's powerful money path is "below-the-radar," depending less on the traditional building of buzz/momentum and more on "plenty of rich people who know plenty of rich people." Stepping out after a night of performing, Sienna Miller made her exit out of the Theatre Royal on Saturday (May 14) in London, England last night (May 16). The British bombshell, who is acting in Terence Rattigan's play "Flare Path," kept it cute and casual for the rest of her evening, wearing a gray sweater, black pants, and a pair of black booties. Sienna recently revealed her plans to adopt a more serious attitude to life ahead of turning 30 this year, telling, "I can't wait to be seen as a woman. But I know I probably have to contribute to that with behavior." Miss Miller continued, "I think, if you put a camera in anyone's life and document it daily from the age of 21 to 27, there are going to be things that aren't always pretty," adding, "now, I'm much more calm. It feels like a new, more serious decade." We've mentioned musician Jonathan Coulton a bunch of times in the past when talking about musicians and embracing new business models. He's definitely a great example of someone who charted his own path and was able to make a living doing so. However, the only dollar figures we'd seen was that soon after he'd committed to music he was making $5,000 per month. That was four or five years ago, if I remember correctly. However, the Planet Money team over at NPR caught up with him recently, and he noted that in 2010 he brought in about half a million dollars. Of course, defenders of the old system will insist that he's an "exception," but, really, just how many exceptions do we need until people realize that the market is changing rapidly, and those who embrace new models and new methods of distribution are finding that they can make a lot more money than they did in the past. Coulton is an interesting case for a variety of reasons. He tried to become a professional musician 20 years ago, but was unable to make it work. Throughout her 20-year marriage, Sinclair has time and again marshaled her wealth and clout to defend her husband through political, financial and sex scandals, once saying she would fight "with tooth and nail" to protect him. For now, even the shocking allegations of attempted rape of a hotel maid appear not to be making her waver as she rushes from Paris to New York, where her husband is locked up in infamous Rikers Island, to champion his cause. The IMF board investigation concluded that Strauss-Kahn's behavior was "regrettable and reflected a serious error of judgment," but found that the fling was consensual and did not involve any type of sexual harassment, favoritism or abuse of authority. From 1984 to 1997, her blue eyes and trademark angora sweaters were a staple of Sunday night TV, as she interviewed heads of state and global celebrities. French newspaper ... As the Big Issue turns 20, its founder John Bird tells Rachel Williams why you don't have to be homeless any more to sell the magazine John Bird waves his BlackBerry at the Big Issue's communications manager. "Can you ring Parveen and talk to her about tweets? Twits? Because I'm tweeting," he adds, with a hint of indignation, "and I'm not getting anything back." When told the website he needs should open automatically, he is dismissive. "Nothing's automatic with me," he says. While Bird gets to grips with new challenges, so too is the magazine he co- founded 20 years ago at the peak of the homelessness crisis. As the Big Issue approaches this milestone birthday in September, public sector cuts and job losses are starting to hit harder than ever. Unemployment is forecast by the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) to reach 8.8% later this year. In response, the charity is extending its franchise. Those eligible to sell the paper for £2, after buying it for half that price, will no longer be restricted to the homeless and vulnerably housed: from now on the unemployed – or, as Bird puts it, "anybody ... #### Hewlett-Packard cuts outlook for year The Associated Press ##### Published May 17, 2011 07:42AM MDT Palo Alto, Calif. • After a leaked memo from the CEO Leo Apotheker warned of a rough path ahead, Hewlett-Packard Co. cut its full-year outlook Tuesday, citing a trifecta of woes that include the earthquake in Japan, soft PC sales and weakening performance in its crucial tech services business. A bumpy path for the tech sector and renewed concerns about Europe's debt dragged stocks lower on Monday.
