The news has provoked fury from the family of the late actor who fell from a balcony during a party in Whitechapel, East London, in December 2006, which Doherty also attended. The 30-year-old died the day after the fall as result of head injuries. Doherty has denied any involvement in his death. As previously reported by Spinner, Doherty voluntarily spoke with police investigating the incident in February. Now the CPS has announced that a lack of evidence has failed to yield a possible prosecution as what triggered the fall remains unclear.
