A new Duke University study finds that flame retardant chemicals found in baby products such as car seats and diaper changing pads may contain harmful toxins. Wyatt Andrews reports. RALEIGH, N.C. — Mike Krzyzewski is once again Duke's highest-paid employee. The Associated Press on Monday obtained the university's most recent IRS documents for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2010. The presenters informed that over the last ten years the prevalence of obesity and prostate cancer in Europe and the USA has been steadily increasing. Prostate cancer today is the second biggest cancer killer of men... CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The following are excerpts from Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK) Chairman, President and CEO Jim Rogers' speech to graduates at North Carolina State University's Commencement exercises May 14. The research, reported at the American Urological Association annual meeting Sunday (May 15, 2011), advances the link between obesity and prostate cancer, which has generated research interest in recent years as the incidence of both conditions remains high and often overlaps. "Over the past decades, there has been increasing prevalence of obesity in the U.S... Drawing an end to her out of town excursion, Pippa Middleton readied for the short flight back home to London via the Madrid-Barajas Airport in Spain on Sunday (May 15). The younger sister of Duchess Catherine was in quite the cheerful mood as she passed through the international terminal following a two-day getaway in the Spanish capital city. Stirring up plenty of chatter with the weekend trip, Pippa was joined by a gaggle of gal pals along with her ex-boyfriend, George Percy. Percy happens to be the son of the Duke of Northumberland (one of Britain's wealthiest people), with Pippa having dated him while they shared a flat during their studies at Edinburgh University. His alleged crime? Creating and distributing a raunchy, offensive "girl ranking" list, otherwise known as "blatant jackassery." This story made the rounds earlier this year, and his classmates say he's previously been expelled for a similar stunt, but now [...] A Duke University study has found that methane levels in private water wells are, on average, 17 times higher when within 1,000 yards of a natural gas drilling site. May 10 (Bloomberg) -- Robert Jackson, a professor at Duke University, discusses his study that found natural gas from shale drilling leaking into residential water wells in Pennsylvania and New York and the debate over the safety of hydraulic fracturing. Jackson speaks with Erik Schatzker on Bloomberg Television's "InsideTrack." (Source: Bloomberg) Read full article >> A new study from Duke University found potentially explosive levels of methane in drinking water supplies located close to natural gas wells. A study by Duke University researchers has found high levels of leaked methane in well water collected near shale-gas drilling and hydrofracking sites. The scientists collected and analyzed water samples from 68 private groundwater wells across five counties in northeastern Pennsylvania and New York. "At least some of the homeowners who claim that their wells were contaminated by shale-gas extraction appear to be right," says Robert B. Jackson, Nicholas Professor of Global Environmental Change and director of Duke's Center on Global Change...
