Why
Dominick "Dom" DeLuise died Monday. He was 75 years old. The actor and comedian, who starred in classic films such as Blazing Saddles, History of the World Part 1 and The Cannonball Run, passed away in his sleep at an L.A. hospital around 6 p.m., TMZ reports. He was hospitalized due to kidney failure and respiratory problems. DeLuise starred in dozens of films and often teamed up with his off-screen pal Burt Reynolds. He also had comedic roles in Spaceballs -- as the voice of Pizza the Hutt -- and Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Later in life, the Brooklyn native wrote a line of cookbooks featuring Italian cuisine and became a household name for his funny Ziploc bag commercials. He was the husband of actress Carol Arthur, and the father of actors Peter, David and Michael.
