Hernandez had postseason hip surgery in February. In two new pieces — one in the New Yorker, the other in the Boston Globe -- that examine **Mitt Romney**'s handling of health care in the Bay State, the image created of the former Massachusetts governor is an impressive one. Romney is widely praised — by people on both sides of the aisle — as resolute and knowledgeable, committed to solving a major problem in the state by using the best means (and minds) at his disposal to do so. Romney's handling of health care even won praise from the likes of conservative stalwart and South Carolina Sen. **Jim DeMint**, who described the plan as evidence of using "good conservative ideas" and "apply[ing] them to the need to have everyone insured." Read full article >> Has Mitt Romney taken health care off the table as an issue in the 2012 election if he wins the GOP nomination? In an interview with the Boston Globe that was published on Monday, the former Massachusetts governor declined to criticize the law he signed in 2006 that extended health insurance to nearly everyone in the Bay State. Many of its provisions are similar to the federal law President Obama signed four years later over the objections of every Republican in Congress. Referring to the Massachusetts provision, Romney said "it was a positive approach," adding "I'm proud of the fact we took on a real tough problem and moved the ball forward.'' Have you ever gone to the local cineplex, the one with the state-of-the-art, digital auditoriums -- and watched a movie whose images are dim, dark and lacking color? That apparently has happened one too many times to Boston Globe reviewer Ty Burr, who wrote about this issue over the weekend and shed some light on what seems to be a growing problem. What he discovered was this: Many exhibition chains are using 4K projectors from Sony to run their digital prints. These projectors require a special lens when showing 3D movies that frequently isn't removed by projectionists when a 2D print is shown, essentially resulting in a filter that one of Burr's sources says can take away as much as 85% of the light that reaches the screen. The problem is bad enough in Boston to have riled director Peter Farrelly, who earlier this year attended a promotional screening of his film _Hall Pass_. "I walked into the room and I could barely see, and my stomach dropped,'' the filmmaker told the Globe. "The first screening looked spectacular and the second was so dark, it was daytime versus nighttime. If they're doing this for a ... But merchants there want Boston city officials ... _Tribune News Services_ Boston Red Sox owner John Henry has been fined $500,000 by Major League Baseball for publicly criticizing the sport's revenue sharing rules. Henry told Boston radio station WEEI on Tuesday that the commissioner's office punished him for comments he made to The Boston Globe in November 2009. A person familiar with the fine confirmed that Henry was docked $500,000 not long after the comments were made. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to discuss the penalty publicly. After the 2009 season, Henry said seven "chronically uncompetitive teams" received more than $1 billion in revenue sharing and wondered who could think that was a good idea besides those clubs.
