The piece above is an advertisement for Buckin' Bronco, a new vigor protagonist Booker DeWitt can ingest to give him an edge in combat. The image below is an advertisement for one of the new weapons that Columbia citizens use to raise their rhetoric to a more aggressive level than our contemporary conservatives vs. liberals talk radio shoutfests. My favorite piece, however, is this new propaganda art showcasing the menacing Songbird towering over a member of the Vox Populi dissident group. News from the floating city of Columbia, the setting for Irrational's upcoming shooter. When Irrational Games revealed BioShock Infinite last year after three years of silence, the game's colorful and controversial world left many gamers breathless with anticipation for more info. Now we've gone another nine months without any new info, but a new 10-minute live demo proves that the original video was barely scratching the surface. As the demo picks up, main character Booker DeWitt steps into a shop full of patriotic tchotchkes with Elizabeth, the young woman he's been hired to rescue from the troubled floating city of Columbia. As the two pick through the piles of junk in the store, Booker is able to loot items in a manner similar to previous BioShock games. Be prepared to once more open every cash register and cabinet that you come across in your attempt to fill up on random items. After exchanging some quips, Elizabeth and Booker find themselves in sudden danger. The building shakes, and a gigantic creature appears at the window with a shriek, placing a single open eye against the glass. This is Songbird, the flying menace that was referred to only as "Him" in the original BioShock Infinite gameplay demo. While it's difficult ... Irrational Games, which has established its reputation as one of the most creative game studios in the industry, is slowly revealing some of the cool innovations in its next major game BioShock Infinite. Today, the company is revealing more details about its next epic game, BioShock Infinite, which features the ability to swing on a rollercoaster in the sky and fire at enemies below. This game's innovations are in both storytelling and technology, and it is one of the titles that will push the game industry toward high art. BioShock took the game industry by storm in 2007 when it was released by the 2K Boston (now Irrational Games) division of Take-Two Interactive. The shooter game was set in an underwater utopia-gone-wrong city called Rapture, and it was praised as one of the most original games of its time. The game sold more than 4 million units, generating about $240 million in revenue at retail. Take-Two followed that with BioShock 2, a more derivative sequel which debuted in 2010. Studio Irrational Games is hosting a contest where the winner will have their name honored in their upcoming title BioShock Infinite. In the award-winning video game BioShock, one of the best games of 2007, there was a bar in the game called Sinclair Spirits, named after a staffer Scott Sinclair of the developer Irrational Games. Now, in the next installment of the video game, BioShock Infinite, the developer will name something in the game after one fan. It's a small thing, showing appreciation for the dedication of fans who pour hours of their lives into video games. But it's happening more and more as video game companies discover new ways to bring users into the games. Call it fan appreciation or crowdsourcing, but it's bound to make consumers more loyal.
