Two years after his last appearance with the U.S. National team Adu was named to the Gold Cup squad two weeks ago and was among those eligible to play in yesterday's exhibition against Spain. On the eve of its regional tournament, the U.S. national team could hardly have looked worse Saturday as it was dominated 4-0 by World Cup champion Spain in its final tuneup before the 2011 Gold Cup.
