In a move to lay the "birther" issue to rest, the White House released a photo of President Obama's 1961 birth certificate from the state of Hawaii. White House lawyers passed out copies of the President's birth certificate to reporters this morning and President Obama planned to speak publicly about the controversy at 9:45 AM ET at the White House. Among the documents distributed by White House counsel Bob Bauer are the President's "long form" birth certificate and correspondence between Bauer and the state of Hawaii, where the President was born.
