Comments come amid concerns tinkering with constitution could reopen debate in Australia about monarchy David Cameron has played down the prospect of an imminent change in the rules of royal succession amid concerns that constitutional tinkering could spark a fresh campaign in Australia for it to become a republic. The wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton on 29 April has focused attention on the issue. The deputy prime minister, Nick Clegg, had said he was actively pursuing a plan to scrap the principle that gives preference to male heirs, but the prime minister warned that any progress would be complicated and slow. "This has been discussed before and everyone in the frontline of politics agrees that this does need to change and there are conversations ongoing," Cameron told the Murnaghan programme on Sky News. "But it clearly does take some time, because the Queen is not just queen of the United Kingdom but of many other countries around the world and so changes have to be changes that all countries take on board and put in place and there are discussions with those countries ongoing, but these things, I'm sure, will take some time." It is understood ... With their nuptials right around the corner, a new trailer for "William & Kate: The Movie" has just been released. The made-for-TV movie follows Prince William and Kate Middleton's nine-year courtship beginning with their very first encounter at St Andrew's University. The actress who plays Middleton is Camilla Luddington, who told press, "Viewers are going to get a great love story. If you're a romantic at heart you're going to love it." "William & Kate: The Movie" premieres on April 18th at 9pm EST on Lifetime. Even though I'm the mother of two young girls, I'm not worried about them getting caught up in the whole princess complex. My husband is some kind of anti-royalist so he keeps any princess talk in check. Last time the girls tried to dress up as princesses, my husband gave them a lecture on Constitutional governance. Read more on Confirmation on Kate's confirmation?… Timur Kulibayev, the billionaire friend of Prince Andrew, has been made chairman of Kazakhstan's $80bn (£49.2bn) sovereign wealth fund, cementing his position as the most important business figure in the resource-rich former Soviet republic. What sort of holiday could the PM take that would meet the public's approval? Here are some suggestions… The prime minister was criticised over the weekend for his holiday break in Spain, during which he was pictured looking morose at a Ryanair gate (the default expression for anyone experiencing Ryanair's tough-love version of service) and visiting a cashpoint. The gripe seemed to be that the Camerons, despite being rich, were deliberately under-enjoying themselves in order to present a media-friendly picture of austerity. George Osborne, meanwhile, has been criticised for spending too much, the Blairs were vilified for accepting freebies and Gordon Brown was picked on for rarely taking holidays and not enjoying them when he did. If you're a politician, it seems, you can't win. What sort of prime ministerial holiday would the media and the public actually approve of? The best you can say of the following suggestions is that none of them has been tried yet: ▶ Weekend North Sea canoeing holiday, where only the canoe comes back. ▶ Fashion week mini-break to Milan to represent the interests of British hair- shirt manufacturers. ▶ Two-week residential stint as a volunteer perpetrator at a police dog training school. ▶ ... Goga Ashkenazi, the London society princess and close friend of Prince Andrew, has scored another few quick millions by cashing out of the Kazakh gold company she helped launch ahead of its $1.2bn flotation. Andrew Lansley has been dubbed Broken Arrow – not as exotic as Prince of Darkness, but perhaps wittier than Tarzan... Politicians' nicknames are frequently inspired by the more menacing aspects of their personality. Margaret Thatcher was the "Iron Lady" for her dogged and unmovable approach, Peter Mandelson was the "Prince of Darkness" for his spectral ability to spin from behind the scenes, and Michael Heseltine became "Tarzan" after he picked up the parliamentary mace and brandished it at Labour backbenchers. It will no doubt come as a disappointment to Andrew Lansley then, that he has attracted the epithet "Broken Arrow", not for his resemblance to John Travolta who starred in a 1996 action thriller of the same name, but according to Labour MP Grahame Morris because "he doesn't work and can't be fired". What are the wittiest nicknames you've heard for public figures past or present? Do you have one yourself, and what does it say about you? * Andrew Lansley guardian.co.uk (C) Guardian News & Media Limited 2011 | Use of this content is subject to our Terms & Conditions | More Feeds New research shows that maternity builds the brain up rather than dissolving it. Which makes a lot of sense It's rare that anyone is quite so refreshingly upfront about it, I suppose. More often it lingers unspoken, just below the surface: glimpsed perhaps in the maddening tendency to speak unusually slowly and brightly to pregnant women. Or in the branding of any mother in a remotely high-profile position a "superwoman", as if in sheer incredulity that anyone might possess both a baby and a cerebral cortex. However subtly it's expressed, few mothers-to-be last the whole nine months without meeting someone seemingly convinced that an expanding midriff means a shrinking mind. So really, one should be grateful to the man who messaged me on Twitter to insist that "mother" equals "brain turned to mush": useful to have it out there in the open. Who knows, perhaps the Queen feels equally relieved about suggestions that the ongoing Prince Andrew debacle is all her fault for having let blind maternal instinct trump rational sovereign judgment. As one of those ever-useful "friends" of the Royal family told a newspaper: "Ever since Andrew was little the Queen has always gone out ... Lily Collins, the daughter of singer Phil Collins whose breakout role came as the daughter of Sandra Bullock's character in _The Blind Side_, has been tapped to play the coveted role of Snow White in Relativity Media's modern retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, the company said tonight. She joins Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew Alcott and Julia Roberts as the evil queen in the Tarsem Singh-directed feature, which has begun preproduction ahead of a planned May shoot. The film already has a release date: June 29, 2012. That's before a competing Snow White project -- Universal's _Snow White and the Huntsman_, which stars Kristen Stewart in the title role alongside Charlize Theron -- which has a Dec. 21 bow slated. Collins next appears in Sony's _Priest_, opposite Paul Bettany, which bows May 13. She also stars in John Singleton's _Abduction_ opposite Taylor Lautner, slated to be released Sept. 23. The 24-year-old actor who portrays the Winklevoss twins in 'Social Network' is joining Julia Roberts, and perhaps Saoirse Ronan, in the Relativity project. ACTOR Bruce Willis has done it. So has Britain's Prince Andrew and media mogul Arianna Huffington. Prince Andrew weds Sarah Ferguson. The road to Tripoli was easy to find. Try getting about in Salford • So there they are; the likes of John Simpson and Jeremy Bowen, navigating their way around the perilous hotspots of the Middle East. Clive Myrie for News 24 and James Naughtie from Today whizzing around Japan, bringing back the dreadful news. But this doesn't come naturally to everyone. And so it is that the BBC will hold a day-long training session to teach staff how to cope when they are at their new offices in Salford, and have to navigate Manchester. Nothing left to chance: parking and cycling provision in the morning; how the Metrolink works – that's at lunchtime. And how do the buses work – that's in the afternoon. There's a drop-in room, "for BBC staff to chat with experts informally". And no need to book. But how will they get to the training sessions themselves? Tricky. • Good news, for following our appeal for witnesses, we have a confirmed sighting of the shadow health secretary, John Healey. What's more, he did appear to be setting about the Tories and highlighting shortcomings in Voldemort Lansley's half-crazed health reforms. On ... A complex finance plan is just one of the measures utilised by royal advisers. Jason Lewis reports.
