One Dead, Another Injured After Incident At Queens
Why
One person is dead and another injured following an incident at the Queens Center Mall. Police say a 56-year-old woman either jumped or fell three stories, landing on another shopper. Witnesses have told investigators that the woman took off her shoes and was mumbling before she jumped. "She was falling head first and then she hit the floor, like right in front of my face, and the guy was sitting in the chair, he got hit. I think he broke his neck or something," said one witness. "It was like a panic almost because people were like zombies walking around, they didn't understand what was going on, like how could someone do it. The atmosphere was very sad and gloomy," said another witness. Sources say she fell on a 17-year-old who was reportedly getting a massage. He was taken to Elmhurst hospital where he is said to be in stable condition. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
